Uttar Pradesh in history known as Avadh is situated in Northern part of India and is surrounded by Nepal and Tibet & in the North, Madhya Pradesh in the South, Bihar in the East, Delhi, Harayana and Rajasthan in the West. Uttar Pradesh has been one of the most dominant and important state of India.

Over 2000 years ago, Uttar Pradesh was under regime of Ashoka’s Buddhist Empire. Mughals raids from the north-west during 11th century, and by the 16th century the region was captured by Mughal Empires, they established their capital for some time in Agra and Fatehpur Sikri. Following the decline of the Mughal Empire, the nawabs of Avadh rose to prominence and transformed Lucknow into a flourishing city for the arts. Lucknow was established by Nawab (Kings) with the princely court of Oudh in 17th Centaury and then with the British, both traditions lingering on in the city, finest example of that era is the monument is the Bara Imambara.

The best time to visit Uttar Pradesh is within October to March. Located in central India the state is well connected to rest of the country with several railway stations at Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur, Mathura, Varanasi, Jhansi, Allahabad and Ghaziabad.

Lucknow
Lucknow is the capital of Uttar Pradesh and one of the leading tourist destinations in the state. The city boasts of popular tourist destinations such as Bara Imambara and Bhool Bhulaiya, Chota Imambara and Rumi Darwaza that reflect the finest traditions in Islamic architecture.
Agra
Agra is regarded as India’s tourism capital and has three World Heritage Sites - Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri and Agra Fort. Other important sites of tourist interest include Swami Bagh, Balkeshwar Temple and Sikandra.
Allahabad
Allahabad bears tremendous religious significance by virtue of being the meeting place of three holy rivers Ganga, Saraswati and Yamuna. It plays host to the Kumbh Fair and has famous tourist attractions such as Allahabad Fort, Anand Bhawan and Khusro Bagh.
Ayodhya
The city where Lord Ram was born is counted among the leading tourist destinations in Uttar Pradesh. It has some popular spots such as Ramkot, Mani Parbat, Nageshwarnath Temple, Swarg Dwar and Lakshmana Ghat.
Jhansi
The biggest claim to fame for Jhansi is the Queen Lakshmibai of Jhansi who played a major role in the historic Revolt of 1857. However, the city also has several well known tourist spots such as Fort of Jhansi, Government Museum and Rani Mahal.
